Creating a Hub for Google Accessibility

Designing a central hub and directory for all things Google accessibility (A11y).

Summary

Led the redesign of Google’s online accessibility hub and directory to better showcase the wide range of A11y tools and features available to users across the brand’s product ecosystem. Worked in collaboration with Strategy, Creative and Production directors to lead the end-to-end planning, design and implementation of a new Google.com/accessibility website experience.

Outcomes

  • Co-created and led an immersive accessibility design training session for all contributing team members to develop user empathy and understanding
  • Led user experience design of all interactions, user flows and page templates
  • Collaborated with visual design and copy writing teams to guide successful implementation of UX specifications
  • Personally designed new website accessibility features which were ultimately integrated into the global Google design framework
  • Worked with Google team leads to understand business needs and align design to meet evolving brand standards
  • Became go-to agency expert in design for accessibility
